After ConvertFoto finishes preparing a video, select Save MP4 and confirm the browser prompt if one appears. Wait until the browser reports that the transfer has finished. A preparation success message alone does not mean the file is on your device.
iPhone and iPad: Safari and Files
- In Safari, tap the Downloads button beside the address field to check progress and open recent downloads.
- Open the Files app, select Browse, then iCloud Drive, then Downloads. Tap the MP4 to open it.
- If the file is missing, check Settings, then Apps, then Safari, then Downloads. Your selected destination may be On My iPhone or a different folder. Open that location in Files instead.
A browser download usually appears in Files. To add a compatible video to Photos, open its Share menu and choose Save Video if that action is offered. Otherwise, keep or share the MP4 from Files.
Apple's download-finding instructions and Safari download settings explain these locations. Menu labels can vary with your device language and software version.
Android: Chrome and the Files app
- In Chrome, open the three-dot menu and select Downloads. If the address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on it to find Downloads.
- Check whether the transfer is complete, paused, or cancelled. Open the finished MP4 from that list.
- You can also open Files or your device's file manager and look in Downloads. Search for the video filename if the list is long.
The file manager's name varies by manufacturer. See Google's Android download instructions for Chrome's download controls.
Windows, Mac, and Linux computers
Open the browser's Downloads menu and find the MP4. In Chrome, use the three-dot menu, then Downloads; Show in folder reveals its saved location. The usual destination is your user account's Downloads folder, unless you selected another location.
Check Settings, then Downloads in Chrome or Microsoft Edge to see or change that destination. If the browser asks where to save each file, use the folder you selected in the save dialog. These settings are documented by Google Chrome Help and Microsoft Edge Support.
Missing, incomplete, or expired downloads
- If there is no download entry, return to the prepared result and select Save MP4.
- If a transfer stopped, check your connection and available storage before retrying. A partial file may not play.
- If the prepared link has expired, return to the downloader and prepare the original YouTube link again.
ConvertFoto deletes temporary server files after one hour. This does not delete a completed download from your phone or computer. Keep the local MP4 in a folder you can find later.
